One of the many frustrating aspects of trying to polish black paint can be haze that just doesn’t want to go away.
Take a look at this 997 Turbo we recently had in the shop. Even after a good washing and clay bar application, the paint still had surface contaminants and water spots. After a couple of passes with the DA polisher, most of the contaminants and water spots were gone, but the paint still appeared hazy.
Too often, your first instinct is to use more polish, but the answer is often is to use less. After you’ve finished with a panel, blow out the pad and wipe it with a clean microfiber towel. Don’t apply any more polish and re-work the section again. Once you wipe away the residue, you’ll find this last pass removed the haze, revealing a deeper shine
